IceHouse Court, Barking Studios near completion!
The Bow Arts Team is very pleased to announce that we are at snagging stage at the Barking Studio site! Nearly there!
For those of you who are new to this site, Bow Arts not long ago won a tender to create 4400 sqft of creative workspace for artists designers and makers in the new IceHouse Creative Quarter in Barking. Supported by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the Mayor of London’s High Street Fund the site is due to provide much needed affordable creative studio space for around 20 individual creative practices. We worked with architects Delvendahl Martin to design the internal studio layout and unique partition designs.
IceHouse Court is situated beneath a residential block just next to the river Thames. Neighbouring it, making up the growing Creative Quarter are several other artist studio buildings, design studios, woodworkshops and the beautiful Boathouse Cafe right on the water. Coffee can never be too close.
The studios are beautiful, they are also our most affordable studio site and all have an abundance of natural light. The walls have been designed to be simple and flexible so that artists can get in the spaces and really make their mark and mould the space to suit their practice. The studios are triple glazed and all have access to shared communal spaces with sinks and fridges. Internet will also be installed for the studios.
Full sizes and price details of all studios can be downloaded here.
It is a ten minute walk from Barking Station to the studios and there are regular and fast trains to Barking via the Hammersmith and City Line, District Line and London Overground services.
The next viewing is on Thursday 26th May from 3.00pm - 4.00pm. There will be tea and biscuits for those who would like to drop in and take a walk around the spaces as they near completion. Our Studios Team members will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the vision for the space. We welcome prospective studio holders as well as neighbours and those who would just like to take a look and ask questions.
Please RSVP with subject line, 'Barking Viewing', to firstname.lastname@example.org
We very much look forward to seeing you there!
