This workshop will take you through the different stages of making two styles of fold-out Leporello (or accordion) books, both with cloth-bound hardcovers. You will learn about different book binding tools, paper grain, folding techniques, paper weights, endpapers, book cloths, and hardcovers. Leporellos can be expanded, contracted, and constantly re-curated to form multiple dialogues and narratives, all within one book. They can be passed around and read like a book, or extended out to exhibit your work as an artist or a photographer. You will take home two completed books. Classes are limited to four students and all materials will be provided. No previous bookmaking experience is required.
