Hypothesis: Sharing practice with peers raises confidence and increases motivation.
This simple, ongoing experiment builds on findings and suggestions from an initial #10Experiments meeting with some of our artist educators, who told us they would like more opportunities to share practice. Through a series of meetings and conversations we are gauging appetite and collecting evidence for different models of sharing practice, gaining feedback and peer support between Bow Arts artist educators and the wider education team. This light-touch intervention informs a longer term, more structured programme of support for artist educators, and is designed to complement the more formal Bow Skills programme.
As part of our committment to supporting artists at every stage of their career we run an Artist Educator Trainee Programme which piloted in 2016-17. The programme is designed to support emerging artist educators through opportunities to shadow and be mentored by more experienced practitioners.
