Keep those wheels turning: cycling support from the Bow Arts Green Team

Submitted by Education on Tue, 25/11/2014 - 11:00

Winter is here but that doesn't mean the cycling season's over. Bow Arts qualifies for support from the TfL Cycling Workplace Scheme to help get people pedalling to work. We have already invested in some more covered cycling racks for our courtyard to protect bikes from the elements. And to celebrate the advent of the cold weather, the Bow Arts Green Team have organised some FREE support for all of the budding and experienced cyclists amongst our artists and staff.

We'll be hosting some MONTHLY FREE WINTER CYCLE CHECKS AT BOW ARTS to keep people's bikes running smoothly through the cold months. There’ll be a resident bike mechanic available to check your tyre pressure, undertake minor repairs and answer any people's queries in December, January and February.

Sessions are drop-in and first come, first served. Contact Lydia at for more details.

  • 10am – 2pm, Wednesday 17th December 2014
  • 10am – 2pm, Tuesday 20th January 2015
  • 10am – 2pm, Monday 16th February 2015

Secondly, we are offering five FREE COMMUTER CYCLE 1-2-1 SESSIONS to staff and artists, to help build confidence when cycling on London's roads. These sessions last two hours and can take place anytime and anywhere across London. They are open to everyone from new cyclists to daily commuters.

We are asking all that take part to submit a contribution about your experience for our Sustainability blog: this can be a photo, video, or short text.
