Project Manager: Exhibitions & Development
We are seeking a Project Manager: Exhibitions & Development to join the Bow Arts team. The role will hold a key position in the Arts & Events department, supporting exhibition planning and delivery, nurturing collaborations and partnerships, and generating revenue through space hire and retail.
Exciting projects that fall under this role include the East London Art Prize, Visions in the Nunnery and the annual Bow Open show.
Part of the Arts & Events team, the role is led by the A&E Director, works alongside the Curator: Programming & Engagement, and is supported by the Gallery Assistant. Due to our work with young people, all staff are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Hours: 35 hours (full-time), Mon to Fri 9am-5pm
Location: On-site at the Bow Arts office / Nunnery Gallery
Salary: £28,913
Duration: Permanent

Reports to: Director of Arts & Events
Main Tasks:
Exhibitions
- Exhibition administration, including installation, planning and support.
- Liaising with exhibiting artists.
- Creatively support exhibition planning with the team.
- Open call administration for open shows and prizes.
- Update and work to project budgets (set by the Director).
- Support exhibition touring planning.
- Support the Director with future exhibition planning and research.
- Foster positive working relationships with exhibition and project partners /
collaborators.
Audience Development & Evaluation
- Support the creation of exhibition marketing content for social media / print.
- Collection of exhibition audience data.
- Evaluate and analyse audience data and present the learnings to team.
- Analyse exhibition marketing data with the Marketing Officer.
Revenue Development
- Exhibition space hire administration and delivery.
- Gallery shop administration, including stock sourcing and management, artist liaison, merchandising, raising Purchase Orders, and general development of the shop to increase sales.
- Boosting exhibition and artwork sales, utilising Bow Arts’ Own Art membership.
- Curation and organisation of Nunnery Café exhibitions of affordable artworks.
- Identifying grant and sponsorship opportunities.
Team Responsibilities
- Flexibility to work / key-hold some evening and weekend events (events will be agreed in advance and repaid through TOIL).
- Support other projects, including makers markets, commissions and residencies in collaboration with the team.
- Ensure health and safety needs are met for projects (training provided).
- Support Gallery’s team of volunteers.
- Work front of house in the Nunnery Gallery when needed.
