Alex Chinneck invites you to submit work for the 2017 Bow Open Show
“I hope to collate a conceptually accessible cross-disciplinary body of works that can be enjoyed by any onlooker, irrespective of their interest in the arts.
I encourage practitioners across all disciplines to submit completed works or works in progress. I'd rather you spend your time making work rather than writing about it, so I've kept the submission text to a maximum of three bullet points per artwork, though less is fine. Too often, an artwork is judged on the creator and not the creation, so no CVs are required.
It's not about who, less about why and more about what.”
The annual Bow Open is an important part of the Nunnery Gallery's exhibition calendar, dedicated to exclusively showcasing Bow Arts studio and education artists. Opening alongside the Bow Road Open Studios, this year we are excited to have British sculptor Alex Chinneck curating both the artwork for exhibition and event ideas for the summer events programme.
We are inviting a submission of:
- Up to 3 different artworks
- Maximum of 3 images per work
- Maximum of 3 descriptive one-line bullet points per work (optional)
We are also inviting submissions for our summer event programme (e.g. performances, theatre, music, talks / discussions).
**Please note this opportunity is only open to Bow Arts studio artists and artists who currently work with the Bow Arts education department**
Deadline: Wednesday 19 April, 5pm
Exhibition Dates: 17 June – 27 August 2017
(P.V. Fri 16 June 6-9pm alongside Bow Road Open Studios)
