Empathy Tools for Citizenship - Playtime

Sunday, September 15, 2019
Opening Hours:
RAW Labs, Norton Quays, Royal Albert Wharf, London, E16 2QJ

How can we create new more human and more empathic ways of interacting?
How can we bring in missing voices to the conversation?
What does empathic communication look / sound / feel like?
Can we encourage different perspectives to shine through?

As a part of the 7-month-long Campaign for Empathy, Enni-Kukka Tuomala has created a new collection of Empathy Tools for Citizenship, with the aim to encourage a wider variety of perspectives in our communications and more empathic interactions through colour and play, in order to redesign the way we interact as citizens, both with each other, with local community groups, or with local decision-makers. This new collection of empathy tools extends Tuomala’s previous work in the Finnish Parliament, where she has created a collection of Empathy Tools for Politics.

On Sunday the 15 September Tuomala is hosting an afternoon of playtime to invite you to try the tools, as well as to create your own, as a part of her final exhibition looking back on the previous 7 months of the Campaign for Empathy to wrap up her residency at RAW Labs.
