How can we redesign our environment to encourage empathic interactions?
Can art act as a daily reminder to feel empathy?
What does empathy in Newham look like?
For one hot week in July, together with a group of young local volunteers aged 16-20 from the HeadStart programme, Enni-Kukka Tuomala created / made / collaborated / staged a large public empathy artwork live on location in the Royal Docks funded by the GLA for the Join the Docks Festival and as a part of the ongoing Campaign for Empathy.
The artwork is now finished and will be unveiling in its new permanent location in Royal Albert Wharf, becoming a visible and tangible daily reminder for all of us to feel empathy for ourselves, each other and others.
