Cookies Policy
This policy sets out the use of cookies on our website bowarts.org.
Bow Arts respects your right to privacy and we aim to be transparent at all times about when, how and why we may use data about you and your browsing behaviours in connection with our services.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are automatically placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to improve the performance of websites and provide the owners of the website with information on how their website is being used. Cookies typically contain two pieces of information – a site name and a unique ID, which enables the site to recognise you when you return to a site that you have visited previously.
Cookies may either be ‘session cookies’ which are automatically removed once you close your browser, or ‘persistent cookies’ which will remain on your computer until an expiry date specified in the cookie itself is reached.
Why do Bow Arts use cookies?
We use two types of cookies:
Performance – these cookies measure how often you visit our website and how you use it. We use this information to understand how our users engage with different content on our website and make sure we are providing more of what you find interesting to improve your user experience. For example, Google Analytics cookies tell us how you move from page to page on our website and whether you have downloaded anything.
Functionality – these cookies recognise you and remember your preferences or setting when you return to our website. Our functionality cookies are both first and third party.
We use First Party cookies on our websites in order to:
- make the website work properly for you
- collect data about your use of the website which is then anonymised and used to help us improve our online services
- remember your preferences and make the website easier for you to use
You have the right to choose whether to accept these cookies, and can exercise this right by amending or setting controls on your browser to reflect you cookie preference. However, if you choose to refuse our first party cookies, you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website(s).
Third Party Cookies belong to other websites. Some of our web pages feature content from third-party websites (such as embedded videos from YouTube). This means that when you use pages, you may be sent cookies from these third party websites. We do not have control over these cookies, but if you wish to block them, you can do this via your browser cookie settings. You may also wish to refer to the third party websites to understand more about their use of cookies and how you can manage them.
