Taking the artworks features in the Bow Open Show 2025 as inspiration, artist and weaver Nowshin Prenon will work with you to extract colours and use those to create your winding.

Followed by a step-by-step introduction into winding techniques, Nowshin will guide you through creating a small piece of artwork to take home! Frames are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

This event will take place at the Nunnery Gallery, 181 Bow Road, London, E3 2SJ. Alongside this workshop, Bow Arts is running Bowfest: Open Studios 2025. Please find out more information here.

More about Nowshin Prenon

Nowshin Prenon is a multidisciplinary artist, specialising in woven textile design. As a textile designer, Prenon’s work focuses on telling a story through the use of material and processes. She creates hand-dyed and hand-woven artwork. Her process investigates both digital explorations and expressive winding techniques, which are influenced by her cultural heritage. Her use of rich colour and detailed pattern translated into fabrics illustrate her style as a designer.

Prenon is interested in the relationship of colour and form, which she uses to create layered textile. Playing with line and colour in different order of thread through wrapping allows her to construct intricate artwork.

Nowshin graduated from Textile Design at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

About the Bow Open

The Bow Open is Bow Arts’ annual exhibition of astonishing artwork created exclusively by our Studio Holders, Affordable Housing residents, and Artist Educators. Every year, a different guest curator is invited to select the work. For our 30th anniversary we have three guest curators; Bobby Baker, Albert Potrony, and Nye Thompson have each had a studio with Bow Arts so bring an embedded insight and commitment to the selection process in this special year. This year, 22 artists explore the ties that bind and divide, responding to the theme of ‘Connections’.
