Bow Families: make a scented pocket-sized pouch with Clara Jasmine

Taking inspiration from the calming properties of floral aromas, learn how to make a scented pocket-sized pouch to soothe and help us go to sleep.
Floral smells and scents can bring us a sense of calm and steadiness – especially in those moments before we go to sleep.
In this workshop, we will design and decorate our own mini pocket-sized fabric pouches with a range of techniques including embroidery, mark making, and drawing. We will then pick petals and take fragments from flowers and plants to mix up personal scent combinations, based on the smells that we are drawn to or bring us the most comfort.
Clara will provide a small info sheet outlining the flowers and scents we are inspired by, what they represent, and their soothing properties.
In this workshop, children will learn how to create their own designs, create scent combinations, and learn all about the healing and calming properties of flowers.
This event is an inclusive, friendly environment which is accessible to all abilities and age groups.
Bow Families is a series of free, drop-in family art workshops that take place on the last Sunday of every month in the Bow Arts Courtyard. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for local families to get creative and try something new! Each session is led by a Bow Arts’ Artist and all materials are provided.
More about Clara Jasmine
Clara Jasmine is a textile artist and wellbeing practitioner from London. She combines digital art, applique and embroidery to create designs that nurture a positive intention, through use of symbols, shapes and colours. She incorporates mindfulness into her art practice by using hand embroidery as a meditative tool. Her work is inspired by meditation, nature and symbols.

The Bow Arts Trust courtyard room has step-free access throughout from street level, including to the accessible toilet, and is service animal friendly. This venue does not have a hearing loop system. Accessible parking is not available on-site but blue badge parking can be found 500m away on Fairfield Road.
