Building an organic community and presenting yourself and your practice in a way that really reflects who you are as an artist can be a difficult thing to grapple with – especially in our increasingly online world.
To kick things off, Tamera will share her experience in communication and digital storytelling surrounding cultural event production through case studies. She will then work with you to explore your core values, how they shape your practice and the way you market yourself as an artist through group exercises.
She will also touch upon newsletters, why you might want one, the best platforms to set one up on, and how to build engagement and an audience through them.
The workshop will end with a dedicated 45-minute group coaching session where Tamera will tackle specific questions and scenarios sent in and suggested from attendees to provide actionable guidance on what to do next.

More about Tamera Heron
Tamera Heron is a Freelance Producer and Digital Marketer who also has vast experience as a writer. She works with creative teams and individuals across London and the Southwest to help elevate their vision and aid in the successful production of their creative projects. Her work predominantly focuses on global majority communities, aiding them to authentically tell their stories. Starting in fashion, Tamera stayed within the creative sphere, moving into the worlds of Theatre and live performance as a reviewer and marketer. Furthermore, she works as a creative consultant and producer for art and culture centered initiatives, festivals and organisations, helping to curate a variety of themed events for the local community. She is the founder of Cold Islanders, a platform centered around the exploration of Caribbean creativity and artists here in the UK. An aspiring Art Therapist and Playwright, Tamera is focused on exploring the different ways we tell stories through various art forms and the impact it has on our sense of self and wellbeing.
About Bow Skills
Bow Arts seeks to support creative professionals at all stages of their careers. In 2015, Bow Arts launched Bow Skills in response to an artist survey which showed over 90% of practicing artists find it useful to receive further support outside formal education.
Bow Skills is a dynamic and relevant programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which is informed by an artist steering group and open to all creative practitioners across London. The programme of talks, panel discussions, new skills labs and peer crits is open to all, with concession rates available to students, over 65s, under 18s, Bow Arts artists and key workers.

The Bow Arts offices have step-free access throughout from street level, including to the accessible toilet, and is service animal friendly. This venue does not have a hearing loop system. Accessible parking is not available on-site.
