Buildings
Saturday 15th November 2008 – Sunday 30th November 2008 , 12:00am to 11:59pm
Artist Peter Wylie presents his series of paintings ‘Buildings’ in Erno Goldfingers’ iconic Balfron Tower.
For the past year the artist has been working from photographs of Lasdun’s prototype cluster buildings on Usk Street in Bethnal Green and Goldfinger’s Balfron and associated estate in Poplar. With the support of Bow Arts Trust and Poplar HARCA, the artist has permission to use Flat 123 on the penultimate floor, for this timely exhibition on post-war social housing.
Members are invited to the either of the Private View events in Flat 123 Balfron Tower, one in daylight and the other at night:
Sunday 23rd November 2-4.30pm. At 2.30pm Roger Zogolovitch from Solid Space Developments Limited will open the show.
Thursday 27th Novenber 6-8.30pm. At 6.30pm James Dunnett a former colleague of Goldfinger will open the show.
In addition the exhibition will run from Saturday 15th-Sunday 30th November, but access is limited.
