Exhibition Private View: Poplar Consortium – Celebrating 10 Years

Tuesday 18th March 2025 , 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Teachers and educators are invited to an evening of workshops and socialising, celebrating the artwork of children, teachers and artists as part of our Poplar Consortium.

Exhibition Private View of the artwork of children, teachers and artists who have worked together as part of this 10th year of the Bow Arts Poplar Consortium.

This event is a great opportunity to find out more about what we do, see examples of recent projects and learn more about how we support visual arts in schools across London.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided. There will also be a drop-in practical workshop for teachers and educators, led by artist educator Sara Heywood.

Workshop Information

There will be the opportunity to engage in a drop-in workshop with artist educator Sara Heywood. The workshop will focus on ways through which we can make looking at art exciting and engaging for students.

This will include:

  • How we can best frame conversations & dialogue around art, in classroom and gallery settings
  • Creating stimulating techniques in which to look and respond to artworks
  • How to keep gallery visits relevant once back in the classroom

About the Bow Arts Poplar Consortium

Bow Arts have been working in partnership with seven primary schools in Tower Hamlets over the past year. We have worked on a range of creative visual arts projects in collaboration with children, staff and professional artist educators.

This year marks Bow Arts’ 30th anniversary and we also celebrate ten years of the Poplar Consortium. The exhibition will also look back to project highlights from the past decade.
