First Thursday Late Opening

Join us for an afterhours chance to see Raw Materials: Textiles, with an exclusive talk from resident artist Sarah Desmarais who will be looking at her practice and approach to the project’s commission.
Desmarais used traditional printing techniques to make her work for the project, applying natural dyes madder and indigo – used along the Lea in the Georgian times – to her hand-sewn dresses of silk organza. Learn more about traditional printing methods and her dresses’ pattern designs which are inspired by the River Lea’s nature.
