Artist Educator CPD: Drawn From Here – Life Drawing & Local Stories with Nourishment

Wednesday 9th December 2026 , 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Join Nourishment, a culture and community focused agency, for a beginner-friendly life drawing workshop exploring creativity, identity, community and belonging. This is an end-of-year creative workshop and social event to round off a year of workshops for artist educators and creatives interested in community projects and working with young people.

Led by Tito Mogaji, founder of Nourishment artist and life drawing facilitator Kandre Aramide Hassan, the session invites participants to sketch three clothed young people from local communities while hearing their personal stories, memories and reflections on the places and people that have shaped them.

Part life-drawing, part community conversation, the workshop offers a relaxed space to develop your drawing skills, slow down, connect with others and explore creative wellbeing.

No previous drawing experience needed. All materials provided with music, refreshments and time to socialise.

What is the Artist Educators’ CPD programme?

Organised by Bow Arts Learning, the artist educator CPD program is a series of sessions offered as a form of skill sharing and network-building for artists who work with community groups or with students in schools. The program has been running internally successfully for the last 10 years and now has been opened to the public.

The programme consists of:

  • Skills-share sessions, where artists share skills from their own practice with each other.
  • The Happening Now programme, where artists facilitate sessions around what is happening nationally and globally in current affairs and how this may be affecting young people, their families and teachers.
  • Training delivered by external providers such as art psychotherapists and organisations that can share insight about working with children who have experienced trauma.
  • Bow Arts’ annual artist educators’ retreat – a two-day event of workshops, talks and hands on activities exploring the boundaries of art teaching in the classroom and beyond.

We are delighted to be able to extend this workshop beyond our artists educator community welcoming anyone with an interest or curiosity of how a learning environment can complement your own practice.

This event will be held at Southmere Social Café at the Lakeside Centre, Balzagette Way, SE2 6AN.
