Jacqueline Morreau’s work was primarily focussed with figurative art, such as drawing; that at the time was being rejected by both the art world and many feminists, as a rejection of direct figurative representation of women.
With the recent return to drawing and painting, it is a good opportunity to re-present Morreau’s works in order to appreciate the drawn figure again.
With this in mind, Andrea Morreau, the artists’ daughter, will be running two live drawing workshops at the space during the exhibition. Admission is free, and materials are provided.
