Jessica Jane Charleston | New Buds, Old Moon
13 May – 22 September 2019
Jessica is a painter, writer and printmaker who makes handmade books under the name Make Mud Press in her Bow Arts studio. The majority of the works shown in the Nunnery Cafe have been made whilst on residencies in the last year – France, Italy and Scotland – where Jessica explored the tension between new environments and old emotions. She aims to carry the spontaneity of her sketchbooks through to her painting and printmaking saying ‘It is in the doing, the drawing, that I find what I want to say’.
Jessica’s exhibition is the first in a new series of shows in the Nunnery Cafe which showcase affordable works of art from Bow Arts artists. All works are for sale and available to buy on the Own Art scheme.
