Book Event: Play the Game

Saturday 17th June 2023 , 2:00am to 2:30am

Join Michael Owens and Ralph Ward, authors of Play the Game: How the Olympics Came to East London, for a talk and discussion on The Olympic Park: what it looks like now and how it came to be.

The event will begin with stroll through the Olympic Park from Stratford to Bow. Taking in Stratford City, the Olympic Park’s numerous contemporary developments, including the Games Legacy schemes like Zaha Hadid’s Aquatic Centre. East Bank, emerging home to the Victoria and Albert Museum, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, BBC, London College of Fashion, UCL and the Here East Innovation and Technology Campus.

The walk will be followed by a Book Event and a social gathering at Bow Arts’ annual event Bowfest: Open Studios 2023, to review the art, architecture, economy, culture and reimagining of East London.

The walk through the Olympic Park leaves 11am from Stratford Railway Station. Meet at Stratford Station by the Red Steam Train.

The book event will be held in the Nunnery Gallery between 1:302:30.
