A project exploring migration, travel (both physical and imaginary), and directly engaging with the Royal Albert Wharf, its historic importance as part of the London Docks as well as its current regeneration and status as a burgeoning residential community. As first-generation migrants in London
Workshop: theatrical sculpture – 13 Feb, 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Private View – 15 Feb, 3:00pm – 5:00pm
We invite local artists, students, families and members of the public to join us for a theatre workshop led by Ula enabling visitors to experiment creating tableaus or scenes using Beatriz’s sculptures that capture their own memories of play, holiday, belonging and travel. Material from the workshop will be collated as part of the final installation, so that the Royal Albert Wharf community work becomes an essential part of our piece.
Beatriz Santos & Ula Moroz
Two emerging artists and longtime friends are collaborating on their first project, drawing on their shared love of film. Their project Wharf Marble explores themes of migration, travel (both physical and imaginary), and engages with the history and ongoing regeneration of Royal Albert Wharf, a historic London Dock now a growing residential community. As first-generation migrants in London, they aim to capture the complex emotions surrounding travel and home in an experimental film. The work will blend elements of sculpture, architecture, installation, video, and projection—promising an innovative and evocative creative journey
More about the RAW Labs X Art Residency
The RAW Labs X Art Residency places a strong emphasis on creative growth and interdisciplinary dialogue, creating a unique space where art and community intersect. Supported by Notting Hill Genesis and Bow Arts, this initiative aims to foster interaction and encourage active participation in the cultural fabric of Royal Albert Wharf, enhancing both the artistic and communal experience.
Over six months, selected artists will undertake two to three-week residencies in an immersive environment to expand their practice, explore new concepts, exchange diverse perspectives, and experiment with innovative approaches.
