Thamesmead Wildlife Wanders with J D Swann
Saturday 18th April 2026 , 11:00am to 1:30pm
The first of three seasonal wildlife walks in Thamesmead with ornithological investigator J D Swann, with an emphasis on observation of birds, local ecology and history.

Join us to observe birdlife and other animals whilst travelling through marshes and woodland. Experience Thamesmead in April at a time when migrating birds such as Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Sand Martin are returning to the UK.
J D encourages participants to bring binoculars and cameras for documentation and at the end there will be a review of what has been seen. There will be J D Swann stamped notebooks available for people who wish to document observations.
This route will include the Ridgeway, Old Golf course, the Thames Path and Crossway Park.
