What does soul mean to you?

Saturday 27 May 2017 - 12:00 am

During the day Tim Wainwright and Pete Gardom will be meeting with visitors to Bow Arts, talking about what soul mean to them, and recording contributions to the project.
There will be 2 workshops
At 12pm : ‘The Uncreated Self’
And at 3pm : ‘ My Soul Is In My Foot’
The titles are taken from the words of the participants.

Tim Wainwright uses photography, film and sound to investigate the nature and consequences of transformation and to enable people to tell their stories. He has shown his work around the world, in museums, galleries, and public and private spaces. It has included large-scale visual and sonic installations, photographic documentary projects and abstract collections.
“About Soul” is a consideration of soul in the everyday lives of Londoners and represents the completion of a quartet of works he began in 1993. These have examined what he considers to be the four elements of what it is to be human – mind, body, heart and soul. In relation to this he has previously documented the lives of the severely mentally ill, of people with cancer, and of those going through the heart transplantation process.
