Join us at the LLDC's Good Growth Hub for a sharing and social session with East London Art Prize shortlisted artist Kuda Mushangi in conversation with Vyonne Mirara, Shared Training and Employment Programme (STEP) trainee and Gallery Assistant at the Nunnery Gallery. Kuda will be on hand to provide an insight into his experience of the Prize and what it is like working and practicing as an artist and architect in east London.
Come and meet the British Council Collection and Visual Arts Programme team. The team will give a short tour of a small selection of artworks from the British Council Collection. They will speak about their work with artists in the Collection and discuss the opportunities for artists to engage with Collections after their works are acquired.
Visions in the Nunnery is Bow Arts’ renowned biennial showcase of moving image, digital and performance art, selected from an international open call.
A week-long pop-up open studio with artist Darcey Fleming presenting a series of woven ‘wearable’ sculptures made from discarded baling twine. A special late opening featuring a live performance by artist duo dmstfctn on their interactive simulation-based work, Waluigi’s Purgatory, (2024) that tells the story of an AI that finds itself in a purgatory for AIs that cheated during training.
Get to know some of this year’s East London Art Prize shortlisted artists as they take over Whitechapel Gallery in an after-hours programme featuring a host of music, performances, workshops and screenings. Featuring live performances by Gusty Ferro, Joseph Ijoyemi and Lydia Newman, workshops by Darcey Fleming and Liang-Jung Chen, an immersive talk by dmstfctn and films by Laisul Hoque, Eugene Macki and Yang Zou.
