Film Night: Paris is Burning

Saturday, April 27, 2019
Opening Hours:
RAW Labs, Norton Quays, Royal Albert Wharf, London, E16 2QJ

Join us at RAW Labs for a free screening of the iconic film Paris is Burning (1990), accompanied by delicious drinks and pizza.

Paris Is Burning documents the real lives of Black and Latinx queer and trans people amidst New York’s vibrant ballroom scene in the wake of the 1980s AIDS crisis. Between voguing and throwing shade, the film’s protagonists explore the different intersections of race, gender, sexuality and class with honesty, grit and humour. A cult classic, the film sheds light on a community whose legacy hugely popular shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race and Pose still draw from today.

Enjoy the film over a delicious, locally brewed craft beer from Husk - only £2.50 a bottle - and tasty, freshly made rustic pizza from Foxy’s Wood-Fired Pizza.
