Saturday 1st November 2025 , 9:30am to 11:30am

Join Bow Arts at The Rum Factory for a series of six drop in, family friendly art workshops. Open to children of all ages and their families – all materials provided.

Create, play, explore and learn with us!

Explore a variety of artmaking skills during this series of fun and innovative workshops, led by artist educators Hernán Guardamagna and Clara Chu.

In this first workshop of the series, you will get hands on and experimenting with materials and techniques to Make your own Monster! Give them the crazy hair in our pom-pom corner or silly spots at the embellishment station. Need to make a plan first? There will also be plenty of opportunities to draw and colour your monster before turning your idea into a reality.

The session will be accessible to all skill levels and age groups. Come and get creative and try something new in an inclusive and friendly environment.

Please Note: There is no step-free access to the Project Space

Meet the Artists!

About Hernán Guardamagna

Hernan Guardamagna is a London-based footwear designer and maker. Recently, he has delved into the art world as an Artist Educator, sharing his passion for arts and design.

His eponymous footwear brand focuses on modern shoes defined by bold silhouettes, geometric shapes, and elements of craftsmanship and futurism.

Recycling and upcycling are two strong pillars of Hernan Guardamagna’s work; thus, many of the workshops he runs centre around customisation, repurposing, or using waste to make art.

About Clara Chu

Clara is a London based multidisciplinary artist and fashion accessories designer. She creates work that re-imagines everyday, mundane objects in our domestic world, merging mass production with hand-craftsmanship. Visionary and colourful pop accessories challenge what we wear on our bodies, using not only textiles but often-overlooked household items, like mops, toasters and toothbrushes.

Clara’s creative journey revolves around up-cycling and repairables that questions the prevalence of fast-moving consumer goods, and playfully blurring the lines between ‘high’ and ‘low’ forms of culture. Her practice reshapes the perception around waste, offering innovative workshops, installations, and fashion products that grant discarded homewares a second chance at relevance.

Bow Families  at the Rum Factory is a series of free, drop-in family art workshops that take place on select Saturdays at The Rum Factory Project Space. Each session is led by a Bow Arts’ Artist and all materials are provided.
