The artists at Leyton High Road invite visitors inside the studios for an open studios event this December

Visit Leyton’s growing creative community this December for an artist-led open studios event. The Leyton High Road studios house a wonderful community of creatives with a wide range of practices.

Bow Arts host open studios on an annual basis to welcome our local community, as well and our friends, and artists across Bow Arts’ studio sites, to glimpse inside the artist studios and celebrate curiosity for what happens inside the buildings that we walk past every day.

Meet the artists

Melina Merlin

As a social justice activist and artist, Melina Merlin’s practice is rooted in reconfiguring power structures. She collects, deconstructs and reimagines life to build narrative painted drawings.

Flora Bradwell

Flora Bradwell completed her MFA at The Slade School of Fine Art in 2021, receiving the Felix Slade Award, The Jeanne Szego Prize and Sarabande Emerging Artist Bursary while there. This year Flora is a Gilbert Bayes Award winner, Artist in Residence at Vincent Van Gogh Huis, NL and a a-n Artist Bursary recipient.

Flora’s work’s recent outings include Matt’s Gallery, Staffodshire Street and Saatchi Gallery, London, Liminal Gallery, Margate and Future DMND, LA. Selected residencies include Elephant Lab, London, Cyprus College of Art, Paphos, and SIM, Reykjavik. Flora curates UK-wide art happenings and is Co-Director of Bad Art.

Just a short walk from the station, these 18 ground-floor studios are purpose-built to allow for a good level of privacy, while also providing plenty of opportunities for artists to meet one another and connect. Suitable for a wide range of practices.
