Private view: Nunnery Café Exhibition | Alvaro Samuel Castro

Thursday 30th May 2024 , 6:00pm to 9:30pm

Grab a drink and join us to celebrate the opening of Alvaro Samuel Castro’s new solo show in the Nunnery Café.

Intertwined with the overwhelming abundance of images that surround us, Castro’s exploration is fueled by the ability to rapidly consume, filter and manipulate them, seeing the relationship between one image and the next, seeing them in sequence, seeing them side by side, seeing them repeatedly.

Drawing from their vast image archive, Castro’s works make the jump from image and research to artwork through a deeply intuitive process, adding another layer to the journey that the images have taken, and prompting reflection on memory, error and the evolution and effects of digital media.

Read more about the exhibition here.

The Nunnery Café will be selling a range of drinks and snacks throughout the evening – swing by, bring your friends, and grab a drink!

Free Drop in – all are welcome!
