Royal Albert Wharf Winter Market

Join Bow Arts at Royal Albert Wharf for a dazzling Winter Market, featuring workshops from local artists, brilliant performances, and a range of unique and original stalls in our makers market.

Friday 1st December 2023 , 5:00pm to 9:00pm

Join Bow Arts this December, and enjoy the festive season at Pump House Square with the Royal Albert Wharf community.

Residents from the Royal Docks and beyond are invited to come along to experience the variety of activities at the Winter Market. Everyone is encouraged to sharpen their skills at the art workshops, sample the delicious street food, enjoy the array of performances, and purchase crafts from the local community of artists.

Visit us along the waterfront, and immerse yourself in the community at Royal Albert Wharf.

What’s on at the Wharf?

The Ice Man will be making a visit to the Winter Market. Displaying beautiful skills of contact juggling and ambient music, the Ice People attract crowds wherever they go. With new improved elevation boots making him up to 7ft tall, and wonderful blue glowing juggling equipment…. the Ice Man is the King of Cool!

Dersingham School Choir’s festive and upbeat songs will bring a joyous sound to the waterfront. This fantastic group of young people will perform from 6:30pm.

Try a range of luxury street food, from mocktails to baked goods and jerk chicken, provided by Ace Events Ltd.

Artist Stalls

Bow Arts artists will be joined by Moving Markets to provide lovely local handmade artwork and crafts for sale, featuring macramé home décor items, clay jewellery, handmade clothing & dolls, and more!

Workshops with Art in the Docks

Artists Colin Gold, John Lord and Daylan Mollentze will be hosting creative festive workshops at Art in
the Docks
. Come along and try your hand at making some decorations or greetings cards. Free to attend
and fun for all ages!

Workshop: Never Felt Better with Daylan Mollentze

Need to make a last minute gift? Is your home lacking in seasonal decorations? Do you need a new desk buddy? Then this is the workshop for you, come and use recycled felt and other waste materials to create something unbelievable! Learn how to hand sew pieces together and apply beads and sequins or if you’re less confident with a needle, experiment with fabric glue to make the perfect gift or decoration. Materials will be provided, just bring your imagination and desire to learn!

John Lord

Workshop: Marbling Fun with John Lord

Suitable for all ages, this quick and easy process produces great results with no experience required. Full guidance will be provided to produce festive items, including greetings cards and patterned papers using the marbling process.

Workshop: ‘All That Glitters’ with Colin Gold

Have fun making your own seasonal festive decorations using typical throwaway household products, such as tinfoil. Please feel free to bring your own items from home to decorate.

Indoor Spaces

Visit the Well Bean Co Café, just 2 minutes’ walk away from the Winter Market, for relaxing space to sit down and grab a hot drink made with planet friendly ingredients. The Café will be open until 7pm on the 1st December.

Looking to have a family meal? Café Spice offers a unique and imaginative menu evoking India’s dazzling culinary traditions. This neighborhood restaurant is just 2 minutes’ walk away from the Winter Market, and those visiting the market will receive a 15% discount on their bill!

Access Information

The Royal Albert Wharf Winter Market will be held outside, along the waterfront. This event is suitable for all ages, and families with children are encouraged to attend.

The Art in the Docks space has step-free access throughout from street level, including to the accessible
toilet, and is service animal friendly. This venue does not have a hearing loop system.
