Mayor’s Community Weekend Visits Royal Albert Wharf
Early in September, Art in the Docks welcomed representatives from the 2025 Mayor’s Community Weekend into the Bow Arts artist studios at Royal Albert Wharf in London’s Royal Docks, supported by Notting Hill Genesis.
Kicking off the weekend, the artists welcomed Joanne McCartney (Deputy Mayor for Children and Families) James Asser (MP for Beckton and West Ham) Phil Chamberlain (Head of National Lottery England) and Helen Bushell (Head of National Lottery Funding for London and Southeast).

Art in the Docks led a two-day events programme themed to the lifecycle of bees, beginning with a large-scale community drawing in Pumphouse Square, and a swarm of human bees. This was followed by a community planting project involving over 100 children from nearby Gallions Primary School.
