Drop-in printing for all ages

A chance to print your own bookmark or postcard on a flatbed Adana press using handset original letterpress type, with artist Jessica Jane Charleston. This is a drop-in event, with all ages and families especially welcome.

Adana presses were manufactured in Twickenham from 1922 and 1999 and frequently used in smaller commercial presses.

Jessica Jane Charleson runs Make Mud Press, an independent letterpress publishers in east London.

This event is part of the Lightboxes & Lettering event programme, which celebrates the fascinating and important history of east London's print industry, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Access Information

Nunnery Gallery has step-free access throughout from street level, including to the accessible toilet, and is service animal friendly. This venue does not have a hearing loop system.

Accessible parking is not available on-site but blue badge parking can be found 500m away on Fairfield Road.
