The Chadwell Award 2014-15 Exhibition

10 - 21 October 2015

"Vivien Zhang | Surf the Anodyne" is the closure exhibition for the Chadwell Award 2014-15. Vivien Zhang is a London-based artist and was the recipient of the award in 2014.

Set up in 2010, the Chadwell Award aims to provide a bridge between art school and practice as a professional artist. In 2014 the award was offered to postgraduate students studying Fine Art at the Royal Academy Schools and the Royal College of Art. The 2014 Selection panel included: Briony Anderson (Artist), Andrew Post and Mary Aylmer (Patrons), and Sir John Tusa (Arts commentator, former Chairman of the University of the Arts, former Managing Director of the Barbican).

Vivien Zhang (b 1990, Beijing) is a London-based artist and graduate from the Royal College of Art, London. Zhang’s work looks at the idea of repetition and painting as site for assemblage. Growing up in China, Kenya and Thailand, Zhang’s work generates intersections between abstraction, geographical fluidity, and a sense of placelessness from personal experience.

Location: PSW, The Rum Factory, 49 Pennington St, London E1W 2BD
