...Because in a world where we are constantly told we could and should 'have it all' if only we just work harder, buy into all the new-fangled products and get our acts together, more and more of us are struggling to juggle those expectations with our own realities. And then life happens.
These monthly meetings have been designed to help you to navigate your own mental and emotional needs, when it's all too easy to neglect them as only an afterthought.
It will also aim to empower you with ideas and tools for self-care, signposting you to helpful resources and equipping you to better deal with common psycho-social pitfalls.
January's event will begin as usual with a relaxing, led mindfulness meditation, followed by a presentation by guest speaker, local clinical psychotherapist, Becca Allgood-May, about all things CBT. Also hear about how applying CBT personally helps a member of our team overcome the challenges of an ongoing diagnosis of generalised anxiety disorder. Then independently reflect on what is discussed with suggested creative reflections designed to help you identify and process anxieties of your own.
We hope you leave this session feeling more able and confident to prioritise your own holistic health for a happier life balance.
