We have just recruited four aspiring Artist Educators for the third year of our Artist Educator Trainee Programme. We will be advertising for the next round of trainees in July 2019.
If you are a practising artist who is passionate about Arts Education and would like to gain the tools and experience to lead inspiring projects in the classroom then this could be the programme for you! The Bow Arts Artist Educator Trainee Programme provides the opportunity for successful applicants to gain experience and develop the skills necessary to deliver arts education projects within school settings. Taking place over two school terms, you will have the opportunity to support a lead artist in a range of school settings, lead an activity or session with support and gain practical skills in planning and evaluating formal learning projects. There is also the potential to lead a project independently in the third term.
You will take part in group progress meetings with lead artists and Bow Arts staff, providing space for discussion and reflection of your experiences. Artist Trainees will be given free access to workshops and seminars delivered by Bow Arts, including the Bow Arts Teachers CPD. By the end of the programme, trainees will have experience in planning projects, writing session plans, delivering a workshop activity, and understanding school settings and curriculum contexts.
