For this first block of Open Workshops at Temple Print Studio we will be exploring lino and other forms of relief printing, the varied techniques involved and approaches to making and experimenting with print on paper. This class is open to all levels and you are free to come to any session or all if you are keen to develop your skills further.
If joining for your first evening you will begin by learning how to make a simple one colour lino print. You will gain experience in sketching and planning out your image, using cutting tools, oil based inks, rollers, papers and how to create your own prints at home without a press.
Those coming back for another session can make use of the time to develop their skills further, whether that is practicing carving, producing an edition of prints, experimenting with colour and textures. Jamie will be on hand throughout and can offer individual guidance and can introduce you to more advanced techniques such as reduction and multiplate linocut for those looking to further their relief printing skills.
